Why we built this

A job search is mostly administration wrapped around a small number of decisions that actually matter. The administration has grown; the decisions have not.

Searching for a tech role in the United States now involves monitoring dozens of employer career pages, re-tailoring a resume for every application, retyping the same employment history into form after form, tracking forty processes across six months, and remembering which of two similar-sounding conversations reached a final round.

None of that is the hard part of finding a job. The hard part is deciding what you want next, judging whether a role is genuinely right, and being able to say clearly why you are the person for it. That work is yours and no software should take it.

But the administration around it has grown to the point where it crowds out the judgement. People run out of energy on the mechanical work and give the decisions less attention than they deserve — which is exactly the wrong way round, because a handful of well-judged applications beats a hundred sent on autopilot.

What it does

PlaceMeFast takes the mechanical work: finding roles as they are posted, ranking them against a profile you define with the reasoning attached, tailoring materials so they survive an applicant tracking system, filling forms, and keeping the state of the whole search visible without you transcribing your inbox into a spreadsheet.

It deliberately does not take the judgement. It will not decide which roles you should want, write experience you do not have, or send anything in your name that you have not read. Those are not missing features — they are the design.

If you want the longer argument for where that line sits, it is in the AI job search guide.

How we work

The product changes as the hiring systems it reads change, and we would rather ship a narrow thing that works than a broad one that degrades under load. Where something is limited, it is written down.

Alongside it sits this site and the guides on it, which are written to be worth reading whether or not you ever sign in.

What we are committing to

Each of these is specific enough that you could hold us to it. That is the point of writing them down.

  1. We will not promise outcomes

No guarantee of interviews, offers, or employment, and no invented statistics about how much faster you will be hired. Those depend on the market and the employer, not on us.

  2. Nothing goes out that you have not seen

Applications and outreach carry your name. Automation prepares them; you decide what is sent, under controls you set.

  3. We will not invent your experience

Tailoring means re-weighting what you have actually done. A tool that writes you a better past is handing you something you cannot defend in an interview.

  4. We will say what we do not cover

United States searches only. Where a capability is limited or a plan does not include something, we would rather write it down than let you find out later.

  5. Your data stays yours

Optimized resumes can be downloaded and used anywhere. Connecting a mailbox is opt-in and revocable. Nothing about the design assumes you will never leave.
